Position Overview

  • Job Title: Global Communications Consultant
  • Location: Fully Remote (Global)
  • Contract Duration: 12 months
  • Work Schedule: Must overlap within four hours of Eastern Standard Time

This is a full-time consultancy role within HCWH’s Global Team, focusing heavily on climate and health communications. The selected consultant will collaborate closely with both the Communications and Programmatic teams to produce compelling external content and amplify global initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

The Global Communications Consultant will play a dynamic, cross-functional role. Core responsibilities include:

1. Communications & Narrative Development

You will work alongside the Global Climate team and other programmatic teams to develop timely, accurate, and impactful external materials. This includes drafting essential program-related content, identifying powerful impact stories, and supporting coverage of key events.

The consultant will also coordinate with regional offices and strategic partners to showcase the global reach of HCWH’s climate initiatives.

2. Social Media Leadership

A significant part of the role involves leading the development of social media content in both English and Spanish. You will create messaging and graphics for HCWH’s Global and GGHH social media accounts, monitor performance metrics, track KPIs, and identify opportunities for growth and optimization.

This position requires someone who understands digital trends and can craft engaging content that resonates with global audiences.

3. Website & Platform Management

The consultant will track and analyze website and Moodle analytics, identify performance indicators, and flag areas for improvement. Responsibilities also include uploading materials, editing web pages, and managing digital resources.

4. Newsletters & Campaigns

You will support the development and launch of newsletters and broader outreach campaigns, ensuring messaging consistency and strategic alignment across platforms.

Who Should Apply?

HCWH is looking for a mid-level communications professional with:

  • At least three years of communications experience, preferably in NGO or nonprofit environments
  • A BA or BS degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Strong ability to manage tight deadlines and shifting priorities in a remote environment

Technical proficiency is also essential. Candidates should have experience with:

  • Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Canva
  • Drupal
  • MailChimp
  • Microsoft Office
  • Google Workspace
  • Preferred: Moodle
