About the Role: Global Awards & Donor Compliance Manager

The Global Awards and Donor Compliance Manager (GADCM) plays a critical leadership role within the Awards Management Unit (AMU) Global team. Reporting to the Global Award Management Director, you will ensure effective award oversight, donor compliance, and strategic coordination across country and support offices.

This is a high-impact position that blends technical compliance expertise, leadership, systems management, and global stakeholder engagement.

You will provide day-to-day support to desk offices, contribute to strategic initiatives, and foster strong collaboration across departments and regions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead End-to-End Awards Management

You will oversee the full lifecycle of awards—from negotiation and agreement review to start-up, compliance monitoring, and closeout. This ensures strong alignment between donor requirements and program implementation while mitigating financial and operational risk.

2. Serve as Technical Authority on Compliance & Risk

As a key decision-maker in Go/No-Go processes, portfolio reviews, and closeout evaluations, you will advise on:

  • Audit readiness
  • Equipment disposition
  • High-level compliance risks
  • Fraud prevention and safeguarding considerations

Your expertise will directly contribute to protecting both RI’s reputation and donor trust.

3. Strengthen Donor & Partner Compliance Standards

You will guide Country Offices and implementing partners on donor regulations, oversee due diligence processes, and manage sub-award structures. Ensuring up-to-date compliance frameworks will be central to your work.

4. Oversee Performance, Audits & KPIs

Monitoring global Awards Management KPIs and management indicators will be a major focus. You will ensure policy adherence, identify lessons learned, and surface critical risks to Senior Management.

5. Lead Awards Systems & Data Management

You will manage workflows within NetSuite Awards and Partnership systems, ensuring real-time visibility on awards, modifications, and partnerships. Accurate dashboards and trackers will support strategic decision-making.

6. Promote Localization & Partnership Best Practices

Working closely with teams, you will support donor localization strategies, partner selection processes, and funding oversight frameworks. Strengthening partnerships and advancing localization efforts will be a key priority.

7. Build Global Capacity

You will design and deliver training initiatives, coach Country Office Awards Leads and Senior Management Teams, and contribute to developing global award and partnership manuals. In addition, you will act as deputy to the Global Awards Management Director when required.

8. Ensure High-Quality Reporting

Maintaining organized filing systems and reviewing donor reports and communications will ensure accuracy, consistency, and full compliance with donor standards.

What Relief International Is Looking For

To succeed in this role, candidates should bring:

  • A Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Significant progressive experience in awards, grants, compliance, and partnership management at a managerial level
  • Strong experience working with US, European, foundation, and international government donors
  • Proven ability to track award budgets and ensure accurate, timely spending
  • Experience using grants management systems and databases
  • Excellent written and spoken English, including narrative reporting skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a newly established department and across multi-location teams
  • Willingness to travel internationally (up to 20%)

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Strong knowledge of internal controls, fraud, investigations, and safeguarding
  • Additional languages such as Arabic or French
