Overview of the Communications and Media Specialist Role

The Communications and Media Specialist (m/f/d) will join the organization’s Communications Team and play a central role in strengthening Transparency International’s global voice.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the Communications Team, the Communications and Media Specialist will work closely with the Head of Communications and colleagues across the global Transparency International movement.

Major responsibilities include:

Developing Strategic Communications

The successful candidate will design and implement integrated communications and media strategies to support the organization’s brand, advocacy campaigns, and public engagement goals.

For example, campaigns may focus on issues such as preventing fossil fuel interests from weakening ambitious climate action policies.

Supporting the Press Office

Media engagement is a key element of the role. The Communications Specialist will help manage press requests, identify media opportunities, and brief organizational spokespeople for interviews or media appearances.

They will also contribute to media monitoring and coverage reports that track the impact of Transparency International’s messaging.

Creating High-Quality Content

The role requires excellent writing and storytelling skills. The Communications Specialist will produce:
