Key Responsibilities of the Digital Education Advisor

This role is advisory in nature, requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on technical expertise. You will work closely with UNICEF teams and Ministries of Education across multiple countries.

1. Hardware and Connectivity Implementation

You will provide guidance on device rollouts and school connectivity initiatives. This includes ensuring proper planning, sequencing, and sustainability of digital tools in schools. You’ll also advise on safeguarding measures, maintenance systems, and equitable access—especially for children with disabilities.

2. Teacher Professional Development (TPD)

A major focus is supporting teachers through blended and remote learning models. You’ll help design scalable training approaches, including micro-learning, coaching systems, and communities of practice. Your work will ensure teachers are equipped to effectively and safely use technology in classrooms.

3. Digital Learning Content Development

Beyond infrastructure, quality content is essential. You will advise on the creation and digitization of culturally relevant learning materials aligned with local curricula. 4. Data-Driven Decision Making (Giga Initiative)

Educational Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in fields such as Education Technology, ICT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines

Professional Experience

• At least 10 years of experience in digital education or ICT for education
• Proven work in low-resource or remote settings (Pacific or Small Island Developing States experience is highly desirable)
• Experience collaborating with Ministries of Education and development partners
