About the Project

This consultancy is part of a joint initiative between UNESCO and UNESCO titled “Empowering Education in Uzbekistan: Leveraging ICT and Digital Learning for High-Quality and Inclusive Education Results.”

Funded by the Uzbekistan Vision 2030 Fund, the project aims to:

  • Improve education access for vulnerable children
  • Promote inclusive learning environments
  • Integrate ICT tools into classrooms
  • Strengthen teacher training systems

A major component of the initiative is the creation of Centres of Pedagogical Excellence (CPEs), designed as hubs for teacher development and innovation in education.

Purpose of the Role

As a National Consultant, you will support the design, implementation, and monitoring of pilot education activities across your assigned region. You will collaborate with regional stakeholders to ensure that projects align with national priorities and international standards.

You will work under the supervision of the UNESCO Tashkent Office and coordinate closely with project and education specialists.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Planning Support

  • Assist regional centres in refining project proposals aligned with the CPE model
  • Facilitate planning sessions on budgets, timelines, and partnerships
  • Provide coaching on project management and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning
  • Contribute to proposal evaluation processes

Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting

  • Track progress of pilot activities
  • Identify risks, delays, and performance gaps
  • Support data collection and monitoring systems
  • Prepare monthly progress reports

Coordination and Partnerships

  • Liaise with regional centres and partners
  • Support workshops, consultations, and field visits
  • Encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing

Documentation and Visibility

  • Collect case studies, success stories, and multimedia materials
  • Contribute to communication outputs and reports

Expected Deliverables

  • Monthly progress reports
  • Monitoring data from pilot regions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, administration, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in project design, planning, and budgeting
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Fluency in English and Uzbek
  • Willingness to travel frequently within assigned regions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in digital education and ICT integration
  • Background in STEM education
