About the Role: ICT Senior Analyst – Solution Design

As an ICT Senior Analyst – Solution Design, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing robust information technology solutions that optimize UNOPS operations. Reporting to the Senior Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Officer and working closely with the Market Intelligence Specialist, you will design, deploy, and maintain systems that streamline key operational processes.

Your work will directly impact the efficiency of core processes such as procurement, contract management, finance, program monitoring, communications, and quality assurance, including contractor evaluation and services for medical equipment and infrastructure projects. By integrating these systems and ensuring seamless interaction between internal and external users, you will help reduce operational delays and enhance data-driven decision-making across UNOPS projects.

Key Responsibilities

The ICT Senior Analyst role encompasses several core responsibilities:

1. Functional Requirements Analysis

  • Engage with stakeholders to gather functional requirements for business processes.
  • Document functional and non-functional requirements for process automation, ensuring clarity in project deliverables.

2. Application Development & Solution Deployment

  • Develop software tools and applications for web, mobile, and desktop environments.
  • Design intuitive interfaces for end-users, ensuring accessibility and ease of use.
  • Maintain and optimize code while adhering to UNOPS standards and IT best practices.
  • Integrate new solutions with existing UNOPS platforms, promoting interoperability and consistent data management.
  • Leverage DevOps frameworks for development, using platforms like Google Cloud, GitHub, and other cloud repositories.
  • Ensure all systems meet cybersecurity standards and follow organizational architecture guidelines.

3. Technical Support & Maintenance

  • Provide ongoing technical support and system maintenance for project activities.

  • Respond to ad hoc requests from supervisors to support organizational ICT operations.

4. User Training & Capacity Building

  • Develop training materials, user manuals, and quick-reference guides to facilitate system adoption.

Education & Experience Requirements

Required:

  • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience is accepted.
  • Experience developing transactional applications focused on contracts, procurement, or medical equipment services.
  • Strong experience in database modeling and development to ensure coherent and reliable information management.

Desired:

  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum or other systems documentation standards.
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages (C#, Python, Java, PHP, .NET).
  • Experience with supply chain or logistics systems.
  • Familiarity with BigQuery, Google App Script, or Looker Studio.

Work Environment

This is a home-based position under a Local Individual Contractor Agreement (LICA). Candidates must have legal authorization to live and work in their location.
