The Advocacy Manager plays a critical leadership role within CARE’s Citizen Action Network (CAN), a nationwide movement dedicated to influencing U.S. policy in support of international assistance and poverty reduction.

In this role, you will lead efforts to transform grassroots supporters into a powerful advocacy force. By organizing campaigns, building relationships with policymakers, and strengthening volunteer networks, you will directly contribute to shaping policies that impact millions of lives globally.

This position reports to the Director for Movement Building and Partnerships and collaborates closely with internal teams such as fundraising and marketing to ensure cohesive and impactful advocacy strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Driving High-Impact Advocacy

One of your primary responsibilities will be influencing Members of Congress through strategic advocacy initiatives. This includes organizing Capitol Hill advocacy days, coordinating in-district meetings, and preparing advocates with the tools they need to succeed.

You will develop state-specific strategies to engage policymakers effectively, using techniques such as power mapping and relationship-building to identify the right opportunities and messengers. Building Volunteer Leadership Infrastructure
