Purpose of the Consultancy
The primary goal of this consultancy is to strengthen data systems, analytics, and visualization across UNFPA’s global CSE portfolio.
You will help:
- Build foundational data infrastructure
- Transform raw data into actionable insights
- Create accessible visual products for stakeholders
- Support learning and knowledge-sharing across global teams
Ultimately, your work will feed into UNFPA’s Population Data Portal Plus (PDP+), making data publicly accessible to governments, researchers, and development partners.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analytics & Visualization
- Extract, clean, and analyze data from:
- CSE baseline assessments
- Global programme monitoring datasets
- Develop dashboards, charts, and visual summaries
- Identify hidden trends and insights beyond standard reporting
Infographics & Knowledge Products
- Translate technical findings into easy-to-understand formats
- Create:
- Infographics
- One-pagers
- Learning briefs
CSE Mapping & Data Organization
- Build a visual repository called “CSE @ UNFPA”
- Organize datasets for better accessibility and usability
- Develop structured data systems for global teams
Learning & Community Support
- Support Communities of Practice (CoPs)
- Improve knowledge-sharing platforms
- Contribute to learning product roll-outs
Deliverables Timeline

- Inception note (data sources & methodology)
- Initial data extraction and draft visualizations
By 30 June 2026
- Final baseline visualizations and infographics
- Creation of a structured CSE data repository

Handover Requirements
At the end of the consultancy, you will deliver:
- All datasets and dashboard files (editable formats)
- A technical guide (1–4 pages)
- A virtual walkthrough session (max 2 hours)
This ensures continuity and long-term usability of your work.
Required Qualifications
To qualify for this role, you should have:
- An Advanced University Degree in:
- Data Analytics
- Statistics
- Information Systems or related fields
- At least 3 years of experience in:
- Data analysis
- Data visualization
- Knowledge product development
Technical Skills Required
You should be proficient in tools such as:
- Microsoft Excel
- Power BI
- Tableau
- Google Looker Studio
- R or Python
- Basic JavaScript (optional but valuable)
Additionally, experience with AI-assisted analytics tools (like Gemini or similar) is highly desirable.
Additional Requirements
- Strong ability to simplify complex data
- Experience in development, education, or SRHR data (an advantage)
- Fluency in English (required)
- French and/or Spanish (a plus)
