About the Young Peacebuilders Programme
The Young Peacebuilders Programme equips young civil society leaders with skills in peacebuilding, intercultural dialogue, and project design.
Since 2016, the programme has been implemented in regions including West Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and Central Asia.
The ninth edition will focus on the South Caucasus and Central Asia and includes four components:
- Online Learning Phase (3–4 months)
- Face-to-Face Workshop (7–8 days)
- Project Implementation Phase (3–5 months)
- Final Symposium (2–4 days)
Participants learn how to analyze stereotypes, address identity-based conflict, identify drivers of violent extremism, and create positive narratives through media and the arts.
Main Responsibilities
The Lead Trainer will be responsible for designing and facilitating the programme curriculum and mentoring participants throughout the initiative.
Core Duties
- Develop 8–10 online learning modules and educational materials
- Facilitate online sessions and maintain participant engagement
- Design and lead a five-day in-person workshop
- Mentor participants as they implement local peacebuilding projects
- Support the final symposium if requested
- Prepare mid-review and final reports
- Coordinate closely with the programme lead and participants
Deliverables and Payment Structure
The contract is paid in two lump-sum milestones:
Milestone 1 – 50% Payment
- Design online curriculum
- Facilitate online modules
- Due by 31 January 2027 (or 28 February 2027 if extended)
Milestone 2 – 50% Payment
- Conduct in-person training
- Mentor project implementation
- Support symposium if needed
- Submit final report
- Due by 31 July 2027 (or 30 September 2027 if extended)

Eligibility Requirements
Education
Applicants must have either:
- A Master’s degree in peace education, conflict studies, international relations, political science, law, public administration, or related fields, plus five years of relevant experience; or
- A Bachelor’s degree plus seven years of relevant experience.
Experience
Required:
- Experience in peace education and designing or facilitating learning programmes for multicultural youth.
Preferred:
- Online training experience
- Knowledge of intercultural and interfaith dialogue
- Experience with youth-led organizations
- Familiarity with UN peacebuilding frameworks
- Exposure to the South Caucasus and Central Asia
- Gender-sensitive and intercultural facilitation skills
Languages
- Required: Fluent English
- Desirable: Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, French, Spanish, or Russian
