Full Scholarships Announced for the Gender and Health Summer Institute 2026

The Institute is recognized for its rigorous, graduate-level courses that examine how gender shapes health outcomes, health systems, and policy across global and local contexts. About the Scholarships

The full-tuition scholarships will be awarded through a competitive application process. Applicants may submit up to two scholarship applications, provided each application is for a different course. However, scholarship recipients will be awarded funding for only one course, even if multiple applications are submitted.

These scholarships are intended for individuals who demonstrate strong academic or professional alignment with the Institute’s focus and who can benefit from advanced training in gender and health. By covering full tuition, the scholarships significantly reduce the cost of participation and expand access to high-quality, graduate-level education.

Who Can Apply

Eligibility requirements vary depending on whether applicants plan to enroll for academic credit or participate as non-degree learners.

For for-credit or degree-seeking participants, applicants must be enrolled in a graduate-level or higher academic program and must meet any course-specific enrollment requirements. These requirements may differ depending on the content, structure, or prerequisites of each course.

For not-for-credit or non-degree participants, applicants must hold the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree and/or possess relevant professional experience that enables them to engage meaningfully in graduate-level coursework. As with for-credit applicants, non-degree participants must also comply with any course-specific restrictions.

This inclusive approach ensures that the Summer Institute welcomes both academic learners and professionals with practical experience in health, development, policy, research, or related fields.

Application Timeline

The deadline to apply for a Gender and Health Summer Institute scholarship is March 15, 2026. Applicants are encouraged to plan ahead and ensure that all required information is completed accurately and consistently across Institute forms.

Scholarship decisions will be announced in mid-April 2026. Applicants should wait until they are formally informed of their scholarship status before proceeding with the standard course registration process. This helps avoid unnecessary administrative steps or financial obligations.

Mandatory Registration Webinars

All scholarship recipients are required to attend a registration webinar as part of the enrollment process. To provide flexibility, the Institute will offer three webinar sessions scheduled between April 17 and April 29. Attendance at one of these sessions is mandatory and is designed to support recipients as they prepare for their course experience.

The webinar will cover key information related to course participation, timelines, and expectations, ensuring that scholarship recipients are well prepared to begin their studies.

Application Process

The application is completed through an online form and requires basic personal information such as name and email address. Applicants should ensure that their personal details are entered consistently across all Summer Institute forms, including any future registration documents, to prevent delays or discrepancies.

Applicants are advised to review course descriptions carefully before submitting their applications and to consider how each course aligns with their academic goals or professional interests.

An Opportunity for Impact

The Gender and Health Summer Institute scholarships represent more than financial support—they offer access to transformative learning, professional development, and engagement with critical issues affecting health equity worldwide. For individuals committed to understanding and addressing the role of gender in health, this opportunity provides the knowledge, skills, and academic environment needed to drive meaningful change.

With full scholarships available and a clear, structured application process, the Institute invites motivated learners to take the next step in advancing their expertise and impact in the field of gender and health.
