Supporting the UNDP x Samsung Partnership
Since 2019, UNDP and Samsung have collaborated to accelerate progress toward the SDGs through digital innovation. One major milestone was the launch of the Samsung Global Goals App, which allows mobile users to learn about the 17 SDGs and contribute directly to development efforts worldwide. Installed on approximately 300 million Samsung devices globally, the app has significantly expanded awareness and engagement with the SDGs.
Another key initiative is Generation17, which amplifies the voices of young leaders driving positive change in their communities. The intern will play a hands-on role in supporting these groundbreaking projects.

Key Responsibilities
As a Data Collection and Communication Intern, you will:
- Assist with the call for applications for the new Generation17 cohort, including form development, data collection, filtering, and organization.
- Develop communication content in English and provide translations where necessary.
- Design high-quality PowerPoint presentations and structured Excel sheets for reporting and data management.
- Collaborate on the Monthly Opportunities Digest for young leaders.
- Identify engagement opportunities for Generation17 participants.
- Support updates to website content.
- Collect blogs, stories, and videos for the 2026 Samsung Global Goals App update.
- Update facts and figures within the app to ensure relevance and engagement.
- Develop social media copy and visual assets for #Generation17 and related initiatives.
This role blends communication, data management, digital storytelling, and global youth engagement — making it a dynamic and impactful internship experience.
What UNDP Is Looking For
UNDP is seeking a motivated and adaptable candidate who thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments. The ideal intern should have:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Digital media skills, including the ability to create persuasive online and social media content.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English (required).
- Spanish and/or French language skills (preferred).
- The ability to work across time zones and occasionally outside standard Eastern Standard Time working hours.
No professional work experience is required, but applicants with experience in content writing, editing, proofreading, and proposal development are strongly encouraged to apply.
Educational Requirements
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet one of the following criteria at the time of application:
- Be enrolled in a graduate-level programme (Master’s degree or higher).
- Be in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree.
- Have graduated within the last year and be able to start the internship within one year of graduation.
Applicants must provide certification from their academic institution confirming enrollment or graduation status.
