Role Overview: Monitoring & Evaluation Team Lead
The Monitoring & Evaluation Team Lead is a senior, full-time position based in Abuja, Nigeria, reporting directly to the Executive Vice Chairman. The role provides strategic leadership for the Foundation’s monitoring, evaluation, and learning functions, ensuring that all programmes are supported by credible evidence and robust performance data.
This position is responsible for embedding a strong culture of accountability, results measurement, and continuous improvement across the organisation. The successful candidate will work closely with programme teams and senior leadership to ensure that data and insights meaningfully inform strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities
The Monitoring & Evaluation Team Lead will lead the development and implementation of an organisation-wide monitoring and evaluation framework aligned with the Foundation’s strategic objectives. This includes setting standards for performance measurement, defining indicators, and ensuring consistency across programmes.
The role involves overseeing programme-level monitoring and evaluation plans, including baseline studies, ongoing performance tracking, evaluations, and impact assessments. The Team Lead will ensure that data collection processes meet high standards of quality, reliability, and ethical practice.
Another core responsibility is managing data systems and reporting tools that support internal learning, management decision-making, donor reporting, and board-level oversight. This includes synthesising complex data into clear, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.
The Team Lead will also provide technical guidance and capacity building support to programme teams, helping staff understand and apply monitoring and evaluation principles in their work. By promoting learning and reflection, the role supports programme adaptation and improved outcomes over time.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is an experienced monitoring and evaluation professional with strong leadership and analytical skills. Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree with at least a second-class upper division in social sciences, statistics, education, information management, or a related discipline.
Candidates are expected to have eight to ten years of relevant professional experience, including substantial experience designing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, leading evaluations, and managing performance measurement systems. Prior experience in a leadership or team management role is essential.
Strong research, data analysis, and report-writing skills are required, along with the ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. The successful candidate must be collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
