About the Role
The Research and Communications Officer will sit within the Research Cluster and report to the Head of Research and Analysis. This is a 12-month renewable contract, subject to successful completion of probation and funding availability.
The position is fully remote, giving qualified professionals from around the world the opportunity to apply. However, candidates must have the legal right to work in the country where they are based.
The annual salary for this role is USD 36,692.07 (excluding benefits).

Key Responsibilities
This position combines two core functions: research and communications.
Research Responsibilities
On the research side, the officer will:
- Conduct interviews with civil society stakeholders
- Transcribe and edit interviews
- Carry out desk research and verify information
- Support research dissemination and follow-up engagement
- Contribute to flagship publications and thematic analysis
You will be directly involved in documenting global civic trends and amplifying the voices of activists, organisations, and movements worldwide.
Communications Responsibilities
On the communications side, responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing media and social media strategies
- Pitching op-eds and research outputs to journalists
- Drafting press releases and communication materials
- Organising webinars, press briefings, and report launches
- Producing visual content such as infographics and social media toolkits
- Monitoring media and social media performance
- Maintaining publication databases
- Coordinating multilingual content production with designers and translators
