This role is ideal for a senior fundraising and proposal development professional who can lead strategic bids, conduct market intelligence, and strengthen organizational fundraising capacity.

Key Responsibilities

Proposal Management

  • Lead proposal teams for high-value strategic funding opportunities.
  • Develop winning technical, cost, and co-investment strategies.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and identify compelling win themes.
  • Coordinate consortium partnerships and consultant support.
  • Write and edit proposal narratives.

Prepositioning and Capture

  • Conduct donor research and funding trend analysis.
  • Build relationships with foundations, corporations, multilaterals, and bilateral donors.
  • Develop strategic positioning plans for future funding opportunities.

Capacity Building

  • Design and deliver training on resource mobilization best practices.
  • Create practical tools to improve proposal quality and efficiency.
  • Mentor country office staff to strengthen local fundraising capacity.

Monitoring and Learning

  • Facilitate after-action reviews.
  • Analyze pipeline metrics and forecasting data.
  • Capture lessons learned to improve win rates.

Additional Duties

  • Travel internationally on a regular basis.
  • Promote safeguarding and compliance across all activities.

Required Qualifications

To qualify, candidates should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in international relations, business administration, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree (MA, MBA, or MPA) preferred.
  • 6–8 years of experience winning grants, preferably over $10 million.
  • Experience with donors such as the U.S. Department of State, MCC, DFC, foundations, and corporations.
  • At least 3 years of advanced prepositioning and capture experience.
  • Training development and facilitation experience.
  • Experience living and working in developing countries.
  • Strong English proficiency; Spanish or French is highly preferred.
