The Opportunity: National Communication Administrator
This role is a national consultant position based in Hanoi under the Energy Systems and Industrial Decarbonization Unit. The contract runs for six months and is open to Vietnamese nationals or permanent residents.
The position is part of a project aimed at accelerating energy efficiency in larger industries through energy management systems, optimization, and promotion of energy efficiency in small and medium-sized enterprises. This project is co-financed by the European Union and is a key component of UNIDO’s sustainable energy transition initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the National Communication Administrator include:
- Supporting the National Project Manager in developing and executing communication activities.
- Preparing communication plans, including annual and quarterly strategies, and assisting with budget planning.
- Coordinating communications activities, from social media and newsletters to events, print materials, and outreach campaigns.
- Developing press releases, brochures, posters, and other promotional materials to convey key messages on energy efficiency and sustainable industry.
- Monitoring the project’s media presence and online profile.
- Building and maintaining networks with government agencies, industry associations, and other stakeholders.
- Promoting visibility for project achievements and supporting knowledge dissemination.
These responsibilities require creativity, precision, and an ability to make complex technical content accessible and engaging to diverse audiences.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in communications, journalism, public relations, engineering, environmental or social sciences, business administration, or related fields.
- At least three years of professional experience in communications, awareness programs, or information management, ideally with exposure to energy, industrial, or sustainability sectors.
- Proven ability to manage communications projects and deliver results on time.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of communication strategies and tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital communication platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Fluency in Vietnamese and English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
