Key Responsibilities

As Deployment Coordinator, you will manage the full deployment cycle for surge staff supporting humanitarian responses. You will act as the central link between country teams, technical rosters, HR, Finance, and travel partners—ensuring each deployment runs smoothly and meets compliance standards .

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the global deployment tracker and request system
  • Coordinating the end-to-end deployment process—from request to closure
  • Arranging travel, accommodation, and required documentation
  • Maintaining accurate and real-time deployment records
  • Providing onboarding materials and ensuring mandatory training completion
  • Supporting roster recruitment, shortlisting, and screening
  • Monitoring roster availability and identifying suitable candidates
  • Overseeing recharge processes, deployment costing, and financial tracking
  • Implementing scheduling systems and standardised templates
  • Collating and analysing travel data to support planning
  • Ensuring compliance with Safeguarding, Gender Equality, and Inclusion policies

This role sits at the centre of emergency workforce mobilisation and requires strong organisational and administrative skills.

Key Working Relationships

The Deployment Coordinator will collaborate closely with:

Internal stakeholders:

  • Deployment Manager
  • People & Culture (HR) teams
  • Finance teams
  • Country and Regional humanitarian teams
  • Global Humanitarian Team
  • Surge roster members

External stakeholders:

  • Travel partners
  • Consultants
  • External surge personnel

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are critical for success in this role.

Essential Requirements

Plan International is looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Strong administrative and coordination experience
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills under tight deadlines
  • Strong data management and Excel/reporting skills
  • Experience working with HR, logistics, or deployment processes
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience within humanitarian surge mechanisms or INGO emergency response
  • Language skills in French, Spanish, or Arabic

If you have experience working in complex, multi-country humanitarian operations, this role will align well with your professional background.

Location & Contract Details

  • Location: Flexible. The role can be based in any country where Plan International has an office able to employ on behalf of the Global Hub, provided you have the legal right to work there .
  • Contract Type: Permanent or maximum fixed-term contract, depending on the employing entity’s terms and conditions .
  • Reports to: Deployment Manager .
  • Salary: Location-dependent and disclosed during the recruitment process. This is not an international/expat position .
  • Closing Date: Tuesday, 10 March 2026 (UK Midnight) .
  • Anticipated First Interview: 16 March 2026 .
