Position Summary
The HR Associate will be part of the I-Hub HR team and will serve as the primary contact for new hires throughout the pre-employment and onboarding journey. The role also includes employee benefits administration, leave management, HR records maintenance, and support for offboarding processes.
This position requires a customer-focused mindset, strong communication skills, and a commitment to ensuring compliance with Kenyan labor laws and IRC policies.
Key Responsibilities
Onboarding and Offboarding
- Coordinate the full onboarding process from offer acceptance to orientation.
- Communicate with new hires and collect required documentation.
- Set up employee profiles in systems such as Workday and Cornerstone.
- Organize introductions, onboarding kits, and technical setup.
- Manage exit procedures, including final clearance and terminal dues.
- Conduct exit interviews and report findings to HR leadership.
Employee Benefits Administration
- Manage enrollment and termination in medical insurance, pension, and wellness programs.
- Liaise with insurance providers regarding claims and renewals.
- Support benefits budgeting with utilization and cost tracking.
- Educate staff on available benefits and claims procedures.
Leave Management
- Track annual, sick, parental, and compassionate leave.
- Audit leave balances and resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate salary calculations.
- Prepare leave utilization reports for workforce planning.
HR Data and Reporting
- Maintain employee contracts and personnel files.
- Ensure HRIS data is accurate and up to date.
- Prepare HR metrics reports, including diversity and hiring statistics.

Required Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
- Membership in the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) in good standing.
- At least three years of HR experience.
